Are these good enough credit scores to obtain a credit card?
musedrinkingmercury asked:
I have my 3 scores ranging from 680-703.
I am applying for a credit card and am wondering if those scores are good enough to obtain one.
I have student loans, one credit card with 3/4 of the credit line used, a charge card with half of the credit line used, and another charge card without any charges or a balance.
I’m just worried that since my credit card is near its max that I won’t get approved for another card I’m applying for.
Help?

This all depends on which bank backs the card for which you apply. Your scores are relatively average and you are correct about having a card near the max affecting your ability to get a card.
The way to go in this situation might be to go with a bank which actually specializes in people with poor credit. The rates and fees might be higher but you are more likely to get approved. I think you’ll want to stay away from any “secured” credit cards because I am sure that you don’t need the card you need the actual credit.
