What is a good and excellent Fico score?

FICO Score
curious asked:

At MyFico site, they claim that the median/average fico score is 723. Could that be correct? I personally think that it is around 670. What are your opinions?

Anything above 750 is considered good.
    Anything over 800 is EXCELLENT!

    723 is average—god job!

crazy enough it probably is right, however it doesnt mean much. Reason being, the older folks are the “main” ones with the 700+ credit scores. Time is in their favor. The longer your credit history the better. However, they arent the main ones buying property or really anything else for that matter. Now something more relevant to look at is what are the scores for the 2o somethings, and 30 somethings and 40 somethings etc. I believe the avg score for 20′s was the low 600′s. Its nice to say you are doing above average, but once again it really doesn’t matter as long as you are able to get the things you need like a house and a nice car etc.
