Question by Trey M: where do I get my annual free credit report?
It is my understanding that each person is entitled one (1), free, annual credit report. I was curious as to the process of receiving this report and from what agency you go through.

Get tips on free credit reports at our blog. Most people know they are entitled to a
free annual credit report but don't realize that they are actually entitled to three(one from each of the big bureaus). We want to make it easy for you to get your free copy of credit reports as well as the all important FICO (or generic) credit score which is not a part of the free program.
You can also get it free by mail by calling Trans Union toll free
at 1-800-322-8228 for all 3 free reports
Have you tried freecreditreport.com?
You can go to the Federal Trade Commission Website and they will have a link or an address for you to go to and request a report from either one or all three agencies. You are supposed to be able to ask for your score as well and get it for free.
Keep a record of when you received your report so that come next year you can ask for it again after your last year’s request.
OR
You can go to http://www.annualcreditreport.com
There you can either print up a request (not recommended, I have never received mine when done this way) or you can be linked directly to the bureau websites.
Note: The website require you to have information on past account you may have to access you report and if you want your score they charge for it.
